Gene Autry Comics #10 (Dell 1947) Golden Age Western During the 1930s and 1940s, Gene Autry personified the straight-shooting hero--honest, brave, and true. He was also one of the most important pioneering figures in the history of country music, considered the second major influential artist of the genre's development after Jimmie Rodgers, and his singing cowboy films were the first vehicle to carry country music to a national audience. Dell published 101 issues of Gene Autry Comics from 1946 to 1955. The title was changed to Gene Autry and Champion, and ran an additional 20 issues from 1955 to 1959, making it the longest-running (by number of issues) cowboy actor comic book. Heavy spine damage. Cover is attached by both staples, but it's hanging by a thread. (See photos.) The last interior page has a piece torn from the top. This is a low-grade copy of a vintage 1940s comic. I would grade it 1.5 Fair/Good, but please review photos to determine the grade for yourself. Actual item is pictured. Comes bagged and boarded. Combined Shipping: eBay doesn't allow you to request a combined shipping invoice because I require immediate payment, but I always combine shipping after the purchase and refund the difference--so long as the items are purchased at the same time.
