Gene Autry Comics #20 (Dell 1948) Golden Age Western 1st appearance of Panhandle Pete. Gene Autry, nicknamed the Singing Cowboy, was an American actor, musician, singer, composer, rodeo performer, and baseball owner who gained fame (along with his horse, Champion) largely by singing in a crooning style on radio, in films, and on television for more than three decades beginning in the early 1930s. Dell published 101 issues of Gene Autry Comics from 1946 to 1955. The title was changed to Gene Autry and Champion, and ran an additional 20 issues from 1955 to 1959, making it the longest-running (by number of issues) cowboy actor comic book. All pages are intact with no cutouts. Cover is attached by the bottom staple only. Tears and staining on the cover. General wear and creasing. I would grade this comic 1.5 Fair/Good, but please review photos to determine the grade for yourself. Actual item is pictured. Comes bagged and boarded. Combined Shipping: eBay doesn't allow you to request a combined shipping invoice because I require immediate payment, but I always combine shipping after the purchase and refund the difference--so long as the items are purchased at the same time.
