Pictures of two QF-100 Super Saber drones - 53580 and 53733 shown unceremoniously condemned to be fodder for newer fighters were taken at Mojave Airport. The F-4C Phantom - N402FS in the background did not have the red markings so it may not have been a drone. According to an N-number inquiry with the FAA database, it was registered to a "United States Air Force Owner" from 1986 to 2013. In 1987 (as I recall) a celebration was held at Mojave to honor those who contributed to the development of the Rutan Voyager that had recently returned from its trip around the globe. The plane was rolled out of its hangar for viewing and pictures.
